Pulitzer Prize Winning Author, Oscar Hijuelos, To Give Reading

(Mahwah) - Oscar Hijuelos, the first Cuban-American novelist to win a Pulitzer Prize for fiction, will give a reading on Monday, October 27 from 1 to 2 p.m. in Friends Hall (SC-219) at Ramapo College of New Jersey. The event is sponsored by the College’s Culture Club.

Hijuelos received the coveted Pulitzer for his novel, The Mambo Kings Play Songs of Love (1989). Attendees also will have an opportunity to meet the dynamic author. His other works are Our House in The Last World (1983), The Fourteen Sisters of Emilio Montez (1993), and Empress of the Splendid Season (1999).

The Culture Club will serve a variety of ethnic foods and refreshments. Friends Hall is located in Room SC-219 of Ramapo College. There is no charge for this event.
