Volunteers Sought for Berrie Center Performances and Exhibits
(Mahwah) Interested volunteers are invited to serve as ushers, greeters and gallery monitors for the upcoming season of the Angelica and Russ Berrie Center for Performing and Visual Arts on the campus of Ramapo College of New Jersey. Training will be provided and volunteers will receive one pair of tickets per semester to a show of their choice.
The Berrie Center begins its fifth season of performances Saturday, September 13 with The Shanghai Quartet performing works by Beethoven, as well as original works. The Sutton Ensemble with Bucky Pizzarelli, follows on September 21, playing jazz with a classical accent. Other performances during the fall include Harold Pinters Betrayal, presented by Estelle Parsons with The Acting Company, The Second City, Leon Redbone, and the American Repertory Ballet presenting The Nutcracker.
The art galleries open Wednesday, September 10 with an reception at 5 p.m. for Sunil Guptas photographs in the Pascal Gallery, The Object: Color and Carrier in the Kresge Gallery, Text, Number, Story in the Berrie Center photo lounge, and works from the permanent collection along with new 2003 donations in the Selden Rodman Gallery of Popular Arts.
