Guide For College-Bound Students Lists Ramapo Among Most Interesting Colleges
(Mahwah) Ramapo College of New Jersey finds itself in good company in The Unofficial, Unbiased Guide to the 328 Most Interesting Colleges, 2004 Edition. Produced by Kaplan Publishing and authored by Trent Anderson and Seppy Basili, the guide lists Ramapo College among the top institutions in three areas: schools that changed for the better, schools with the most beautiful campus in a suburban or rural setting, and schools that are hidden treasures. Results in the guide were obtained through Kaplans 2004 National Survey of High School Guidance Counselors.
In addition to Ramapo, the Changed for the Better list includes Princeton University, Yale University, University of Virginia, University of Southern California, University of Maryland College Park, University of Michigan, Stanford University (CA) and Ohio State, among the 30 total listed.
Colleges other than Ramapo on the Most Beautiful Rural/Suburban Campus list include Duke University (NC), Cornell University (NY), Princeton University, Middlebury College (VT), College of William and Mary (VA), University of Virginia, Williams College (MA), Princeton University, Notre Dame (IN), University of California Berkeley, Dartmouth College (NH) and Northwestern University (IL), among others.
The Hidden Treasures list also includes Reed College (OR), DePauw University (IN), Xavier University (OH), Bowdoin College (ME),Duquesne (PA), Pepperdine University (CA), Franklin and Marshall College (PA) and Whittier College (CA) in addition to Ramapo.
