Jefferson Sampson Named Manager of Academic Media Services at Ramapo College of New Jersey

(Mahwah) –Jefferson Sampson was recently named manager of Academic Media Services at Ramapo College of New Jersey. His responsibilities include assisting faculty with the integration of computer, audio and video technology into course work and working with the campus community to fulfill the audio and video needs on campus.

In his 13 years at Ramapo College, Sampson served as associate director of the Center for Computing and Information Systems for the last five years and before that, as a network administrator and computer specialist. Prior to that, he held the position of manager of the Computer Assisted Instructional Laboratory at Rockland Community College in New York.

Sampson resides in Washingtonville, NY with his wife, Laurisa and 15-month-old son, Elijah.

Ranked by U.S. News & World Report as number two among public comprehensive colleges in the north, Ramapo College of New Jersey is sometimes mistaken for a private college. This is, in part, due to its unique interdisciplinary academic structure, its size of around 5,500 students, and its pastoral setting in the foothills of the Ramapo Mountains on the New Jersey/New York border.

Established in 1969, Ramapo offers bachelor’s degrees in the arts, business, humanities, social sciences and the sciences, as well as in professional studies, which include teacher certification at the elementary and secondary levels, nursing and social work. The College also offers four graduate programs as well as joint degree programs with the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and New York Chiropractic College.

Undergraduate students choose to concentrate their studies in one of five schools with more than 700 course offerings and 40 academic programs. Ramapo boasts an average student/faculty ratio of 17:1 and average class size of 22, affording students the opportunity to develop close ties to Ramapo’s exceptional faculty.
