Andrew Hacker to Discuss The Growing Gulf Between Women and Men in a Talk at Ramapo College
(Mahwah) Dr. Andrew Hacker, author of New York Times bestseller Two Nations: Black and White, Separate, Hostile, Unequal, will speak at Ramapo College of New Jersey Thursday, October 17 at 3:30 p.m. in the Sharp Theater. The Growing Gulf Between Women and Men will be his topic. His talk is open to the public; there is no charge for admission.
In his talk, Hacker will highlight some surprising disparities between the experience and attitudes of women and men. He also will examine why violence persists against women, new guises for the double standard and the glass ceiling, and the rise of a homosexual alternative all underlined by a shift from companionship to competition between the sexes.
Hacker, a professor of political science at Queens College of the City University of New York, is the author of numerous articles in publications such as the New York Times Magazine, Yale Law Journal, Forbes, Fortune, Atlantic Monthly, Time, Newsweek, Working Mother, the Chronicle of Higher Education and National Review, among many others. His most recent book is Money: Who Has How Much and Why.
