Welcome To The Dollhouse Filmmaker Todd Solondz To Speak At Ramapo College
(Mahwah) Filmmaker Todd Solondz, winner of the Grand Jury Prize for his film, Welcome to the Dollhouse, will discuss his life experiences and accomplishments in a lecture at Ramapo College of New Jersey Thursday, October 3 at 7 p.m. in the Sharp Theater. Solondz will answer questions from the audience. This program will be followed by a reception.
In 1998, Solondzs film, Happiness, won the International Critics Prize at the Cannes Film Festival and the screenplay was nominated for a Golden Globe Award. Last year, Storytelling premiered at the Cannes and New York Film Festivals to much critical acclaim.
In 1981, Solondz earned his B.A. in English from Yale University. He attended the New York University Film School from 1983-1985 and was awarded an honorary degree from NYU in the spring of 2002.
Admission for Solondzs talk is free. The Sharp Theater is located in the Berrie Center at Ramapo College.
