Dr. Edward Cody Selected as Interim Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs At Ramapo College
(Mahwah) -- Dr. Edward Cody, professor of history and American studies at Ramapo College of New Jersey, has been appointed by Ramapos Board of Trustees as interim provost/vice president for academic affairs, effective August 1.
As one of Ramapos founding faculty members, Cody has served the college in a wide range of capacities since 1971. He held positions as an associate dean and an academic administrator, as fiscal vice president and chair of the State Council of Fiscal Vice Presidents, and as chair of Ramapos Council of Directors (deans). He wrote a number of the early documents for Ramapos governance and curriculum, drafted the original General Education Plan and the current mission statement.
Cody is the author of numerous publications along with segments of the CBS Summer Semester Series, Reimagining America and The Ethical Revolution. He is a recipient of the Fred and Florence Thomases Faculty Award for distinguished teaching and contribution to Ramapo College and the 2001 Jack P. Richardson Memorial Award for leadership. He earned a B.S. degree in history at St Peters College and an M.A. and Ph.D. in history at Lehigh University.
