Trilogy to Present an Eclectic View of Chamber Music
in a Concert at Ramapo College
(Mahwah) - The York Room Salon Series at Ramapo College of New Jersey will present Trilogy, a new trio performing an eclectic mix of chamber music from the great masterworks of the flute, viola and harp, Sunday, February 10 at 3 p.m. Linda Boyd on flute, Brett Deubner on viola and Lynette Wardle on harp will perform a program of works by J.S. Formerly the violist of the Essex String Quartet and founding member of the acclaimed Elements Quartet, Brett Deubner has performed across the country at such festivals as Kent-Blossom, Norfolk, Rutgers SummerFest and Caramoor. He received the Koussevitsky Foundation grant for a new quartet by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer David Del Tredici and premiered David Sampson's Elements, dedicated to the Elements Quartet. The Elements Quartet was the subject of a two-hour PBS documentary filmed at the Caramoor Festival in New York. Deubner has performed as a guest artist with the Tokyo, Vermeer, Chicago and Colorado quartets.
As an orchestral musician, Deubner, assistant principal violist of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra from 1998-2000, has been principal violist of the Princeton Symphony Orchestra, the Bachanalia Chamber Orchestra, the String Orchestra of New York and the Heidelberg Opera Festival Orchestra. As the principal violist of the New York based chamber orchestra Bachanalia, Deubner recorded the Mozart "Sinfoni Concertante" for violin, viola and orchestra with violin virtuoso Nina Beilina. He has been a member of the Rochester Philharmonic and toured with the London Symphony Orchestra.
Deubner has been a featured guest artist at such summer festivals as Apple Hill, Summer Trios, Manchester Music Festival, American String Teachers Association, and this summer will join members of the New York Philharmonic and the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra at the Windham Chamber Music Festival. Formerly adjunct professor of violin and viola at Seton Hall University, Deubner is currently director of strings for the New Jersey Conservatory. A frequent recitalist and collaborator, he will give his New York Debut Recital in November 2002 at Merkin Hall.
Linda Boyd began her professional career in Houston, Texas as a member of the Houston Ballet Orchestra and Houston Grand Opera. Now in New York, she is principal flute of the Sacred Music Society Orchestra, Verissimo Opera, Opera Reginae and the Oratorio Society of Queens Orchestra. She also has performed with the Lake George Opera, Queens Symphony, Greenwich Village Philharmonic, Westfield Symphony, Colonial Symphony and the American Sinfonietta. Linda is an artist faculty member of Summer Trios Festival.
Lynette Wardle is principal harpist of the Richmond Symphony and the Albany Symphony and was second harpist with the Utah Symphony. She has appeared as solo artist with the Richmond Symphony and the Salt Lake Symphony and as a chamber musician at festivals including Loon Lake Live, Great Music West and NOVA. She has performed with the Long Island Philharmonic, Queens Symphony, Cape May Music Festival and Summer Music. She also performs in many New York City shows including Beauty and the Beast and 42nd Street on Broadway and the Fantastiks at the Sullivan Street Playhouse. She can be heard on recordings with the Albany Symphony, the International Children's Choir, Canyonlands, a new music ensemble and several movie soundtracks.
