Pianist Edna Dagan To Perform At Ramapo College

(Mahwah) -- Israeli-born and Julliard-trained pianist Edna Dagan will perform pieces by Bach, Chopin, Lizt and Franck Sunday, April 22 at 3 p.m. in the Mansion York Room at Ramapo College of New Jersey.

Winner of dozens of competitions and scholarships, Dagan has performed widely in Israel and the United States, in concert as well as broadcast. Dagan began her career as a pianist at the age of two. She received a master's degree as a soloist from the Rubin Academy of Music at Tel Aviv University. She then received a scholarship to study with Madame Kaboush at Julliard. In the mid-'70s, she became involved in electronic music at Manhattan School of Music, where she had a studio of her own and began composing.

For the past 30 years, Dagan has taught piano, accompanied musicians and choirs, and worked with various orchestras in Israel and the United States. Her interest in artistic expression spills over into different mediums including painting, drawing and sculpting. An accomplished artist, she frequently integrates her music and art.

This performance is dedicated to the memory of the late Ramapo College Professor Ann Glickman. Tickets are $5. To reserve tickets, call (201) 684-7844.
