Concert Pianist Seymour Lipkin To Perform at
Ramapo College
(Mahwah) -- World renowned concert pianist Seymour Lipkin will perform at Ramapo College of New Jersey Sunday, December 10 at 3 p.m. in the Berrie Centers Sharp Theater. Works by Beethoven, Schubert, Ravel and Chopin will be on the program.
Recognized as one of the finest American pianists, Lipkin has appeared as soloist with many major U.S. orchestras including Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Philadelphia and New York. As a chamber musician he has toured with Jascha Heifetz and the Guarneri Quartet, and has participated in the Marlboro, Norfolk (Yale), and Spoleto (U.S. and Italy) festivals.
His recent performances of the complete Beethoven Sonata Cycle have drawn critical acclaim. "Every minute of his playing is alive, breathing and moving toward its destiny. The audience rose to its feet after the pianists finale to the Appassionata," said Richard Dyer in a Boston Globe review.
