Arthur Ramirez Elected Chairman Of The
Board Of Trustees At Ramapo College Of New Jersey

(Mahwah, NJ) Arthur C. Ramirez, a North Haledon resident, was recently elected chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ramapo College of New Jersey. A member of the
Ramapo College Board since 1994, Ramirez also served as vice chairman of the Board, chairman of the Finance Committee, and as a member of the Board's Executive Committee. He is managing partner of The Christopher Company, a consulting firm he founded in 1994, after a 30-year banking career.

"Ramapo College has increasingly become the college of choice for students seeking a first-class education in a traditional small college setting," states Ramirez. "Our reputation has grown because of our exceptional faculty and the magnificent facilities here in the foothills of the Ramapo Mountains." Ramirez cites Ramapo's distinction as "New Jersey's Public Liberal Arts College" and being named by Newsweek Magazine as one of the top three public liberal arts colleges on the East Coast. "We are dedicated to maintaining the positive momentum that has developed at Ramapo over the years," adds Ramirez.

An active volunteer, Ramirez also serves as an arbitrator for the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) arbitrating disputes between clients and brokers. He has previously served as an ethics panelist for the New Jersey Supreme Court Office of Attorney Ethics, vice president and trustee of the Bergen County Girl Scout Council, vice president and trustee of the New Jersey Aviation Museum and Hall of Fame and trustee of the Hackensack Medical Center Foundation. An active pilot and aircraft owner, he was also a host and producer of a weekly cable television program entitled "Wings Over New Jersey."

A graduate of Rutgers University, Ramirez also graduated from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking. Well-known in northern New Jersey business circles, he was a career senior banking executive, having served with several northern New Jersey banks including, Ironbound Bank, National Community Bank and Garden State National Bank. Married and the father of two married children, Ramirez and his wife Frances reside in North Haledon.
