MAHWAH, N.J. – Ramapo College hosted the 2016 Outstanding Educators Awards Celebration and Breakfast, which was organized by The Record newspaper to recognize top high school educators in the area. Eight high school teachers, nominated by students at their schools, were honored at the event held in the College’s Trustees Pavilion on June 13.

Brian Chinni, Director, Master of Arts in Educational Leadership program and associate professor of Education/Educational Leadership at Ramapo College, offered the keynote address.

“Our public education system remains to be the foundation upon which our great nation is built,” said Chinni. “To be in the company of these eight exemplary teachers and their respective students has left me most confident that our foundation remains strong and, as such, our future very bright. I am so very proud to be a part of the Ramapo College community — a community that takes great pride in the high quality programs it offers to optimally prepare both our teachers and educational leaders.”

Chinni also is the CEO and founder of The Madison Institute (TMI), a New Jersey-based educational consultative and professional development firm.

TMI and Ramapo College were co-sponsors of the inaugural event, which highlighted awardees in the following disciplines: Arts, Civics/History, Computer Technology, English, Math, Physical Education/Coaching, Science and Special Education/Resource Teaching.
