A new e-generation of students welcomes, expects, and revels in tech-savvy technology. Here are some of the newest online developments on campus:

www.ramapo.edu continues to be your one-stop Web address for the latest Ramapo campus news, Berrie Center events, sports schedules, alumni highlights, and more. Log on and find a whole new way to view Ramapoelectronically.

- Ramapo College is the only institution in the area offering undergraduate training through an Online Bioinformatics Laboratory developed by Paramjeet Bagga, Ph.D., assistant professor of biology, with a grant from the Ramapo College Foundation. This emerging technology introduces a young science that is the result of a union between computer science and biology.
- RamaMoo, a digital diversity project, creates a welcoming online presence through the use of chat rooms and moos (Mud Object Oriented) technology. This virtual community for incoming students is funded with a grant from the Ramapo College Foundation and administered by Demetria Royals, media arts professor.
- Through Ramapos OnCourse tool, students can register, change schedules, view grades, audit their degree credits, obtain financial aid and billing information, and moreright at their computer. Textbooks can be ordered through efollett.com, an easy way to get the right books and avoid long lines. Prospective students have joined college fairs online for information about Ramapo and to speak with an admissions representative.
- With a grant from the Ramapo College Foundation, WRPR 90.3FM, now has Internet broadcast capabilities. Webcasting will enable prospective studentsnationally and internationallyto hear the campus station.
- An online course in meteorology, taught by retired National Weather Service meteorologist and satellite image expert Mike Mogil, is a new highlight of the Master of Science in Educational Technology program. According to Angela Cristini, Ph.D., director, teachers from all over the United States can log on and learn.
- The online Alumni Career Network allows users who have signed up to search for other graduates by geographical or career preferences, connecting alumni and enabling networking and mentoring.
- The Governor William T. Cahill Center for Experiential Learning and Career Services encourages students to enroll online for career services, Graduate and Professional School Days programs, and international cooperative education placements. Employers can fill out evaluations of cooperative education students online. These online additions prepare students to conduct job searches through the Internet.
- The Office of Institutional Research and Planning will evaluate and score English placement tests online with its new Writing in Cyberspace program, which received funding from the Ramapo College Foundation.
