Attendance Swells at Immediate Decision Days and
Open Houses
The Office of Admissions hosted ten Immediate Decision Days (IDD)
during the fall semester, for the first time offering one in August,
just before high school students returned for their senior year.
IDD invitees are high achieving students who have the opportunity to tour the campus, speak with advisors, and receive an offer of admissionall in one visit. Attendance at IDDs reached record numbers and was eight percent higher than the previous year, resulting in 230 students admitted, a seven percent increase from last year. For the fall 2000 class, 59 percent of students who attended IDD enrolled at Ramapo.
Attendance at Open House events also reached record levels, with
the number of total guests rising 31 percent to 2,925. Over a five-year
period, the increase in total guests is a whopping 167 percent.
According to Nancy Jaeger, director of the Office of Admissions,
assistance from Ramapo Admissions Student Ambassadors(RASA) is crucial
to the success of Open House and Immediate Decision Day programs.
These students assist with logistics, tours, panels, student speakers,
and questions from parents.
