New Alumni Committee Schedules Spring Community Service
Making a difference in the community is an important objective of the New Alumni Committee. They worked on two projects this spring in Mahwah.
The group has worked with the Township of Mahwah during the last year to beautify the area around the Mahwah train station. Volunteers have spent many hours planting flowers, weeding and mulching to make the site pleasant for commuters.
On May 6, the committee returned to the site to plant spring flowers, as well as install benches and a community board donated by New Jersey Transit.
On May 13, alumni assisted at the Center for Food Action located in Mahwah. The Center distributes food and necessities to members of the local community who are in need. The New Alumni Committee continues to collect non-perishables, Parmalat, and large and extra large diapers to be delivered to the Center throughout the year.
Donations for the Center can be dropped off at the Alumni Office located in the McBride House, or by contacting Assistant Alumni Director Bryan Steros at (201) 684-7115 or by e-mail at bsteros@ramapo.edu.
