    Steve Fonder was appointed to the Advisory Board of Interchange Bank located in River Edge.
    Ralph Jaffe owns a furniture company in Franklin Lakes. He has three children, Ben, Jacob and Rachel, who is in her junior year at Ramapo.
    George Roberts is the assistant special agent in charge of the U.S. Naval Criminal Investigative Service, Northwest Field Office. He and his wife, Linda, and their two daughters, Susan and Rebecca, live in Silverdale, WA. Roberts would like to hear from old friends, especially those from the Veterans’ Association.     Kevin Williams and Timothy Eustace '78 were presented with the New Jersey Lesbian & Gay Coalition Honor Award for 1999 for their work with gay families adopting children. They have adopted three boys, Lee and Kyle in 1990, and Corey in 1996. Dr. Tim Eustace is a chiropractor practicing in Maywood. He is also president of the local Chamber of Commerce. Kevin Williams is a writer and psychotherapist, but mostly a full-time dad. Tim and Kevin will be celebrating their 20th anniversary next year.

    Reverend Herbert T. Freeland
is currently the pastor of the Community United Methodist Church in Roselle Park.
   William Hess holds three master's degrees, in international affairs from Ohio University, business administration from Ashland University, and education from Tennessee State University. He and his wife, Paula, and daughter, Holly, reside in Old Hickory, TN.

    Diana and Martin Schwartz have a lot of news to relate. Diana retired from Kraft General Foods in 1997 and is now employed as vice-president of quality assurance for Chock-Full-O-Nuts in Secaucus. Martin retired from his position as president of M&M Medical and now will be travelling extensively for pleasure. Diana and Martin have three grandchildren.
    Philip Sohn has been named branch manager in charge of the Pompton Lakes community branch office of Columbia Savings Bank. He is active in the Fair Lawn Lions Club and the Pompton Lakes Chamber of Commerce. Sohn and his wife, Rose Ann, live in Pompton Lakes.

    Evan Weiner
'77 of Mount Vernon, NY is a national radio commentator for MetroSource, part of the Westwood One Radio network. His “Business of Sports” feature is heard daily. Weiner had a part in the History Channel’s presentation, History of Sports. In addition, he is currently giving lectures at colleges around the country about the business and politics of sports.
    Ellen Johnson
is the president of American Atheists Inc. A Morris County soccer mom, Johnson is using her refined style and toned-down message to resurrect the atheist movement.
    Randall Kirkpatrick has joined Eagle Public Relations in Princeton as vice president. He will be responsible for media relations programs for Eagle’s clients in management consulting, health care, insurance and technology. Kirkpatrick is an active volunteer for the American Diabetes Association, Eastern Region. He and his wife, Lynne, and two sons, Kyle and Alex, live in South Brunswick.

    Joseph Gearo
is the director of the Environmental Services Divisions at the U.S. Army’s Dugway Proving Ground in Dugway, UT. He will have several supervisors reporting to him and be responsible for compliance with all environmental laws and regulations.
    Mike Koontz has designed a new concept in live entertainment called Stage East. The debut was in October with a show called ‘99 Blues Summit,” the first in a series of concerts held at the Wilson Auditorium at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Hackensack. Koontz, no newcomer to entertainment, led a ten-piece Memphis Blues Band during the mid ’60s to early ’70s.

    James Morley
’79, Ph.D. is associate professor of psychology at Saint Joseph’s College in West Hartford, CT. Dr. Morley serves as a reviewer for the British Journal of Phenomenology and the Journal of Consciousness Studies. He is an external doctoral dissertation examiner for the University of Madras and Pondicherry in India. In addition, Dr. Morley has been named a Charted Psychologist by the British Psychological Society.

    Hugh M. Carola
was hired by the Board of Trustees of the Hackensack Meadowlands Preservation Alliance as its first coordinator. Carola currently serves on the Environmental Goals team of the Bergen County Partnership of Community Health, and has been president of the FYKE Nature Association, a Ramsey based conservation/land trust organization. Most recently, he has worked as a volunteer with the Hackensack River Keeper.
    Roger J. Muller, Jr. is an insurance agent in Hoboken. He has two girls, Kelsey, age 7, and Taylor, age 3. Muller would love to hear from friends at www.mullerinsurance.com.
    Wayne M. Smith is associate director of the National Asbestos and Environmental Training Institute which is a national environmental consulting and training company based in Ocean Township.

    Sherrie Botwick reports that “life is good.” As the years fly by, she enjoys grandparenting and is looking forward to retiring. Both she and her husband plan to return to Ramapo to take additional classes.
    Lisa (Leigh) Auerbach Boyer has been married since 1981 to Allan Boyer. They have two daughters, Alexandra, age 11, and Gabrielle, age 6. They are living in West Long Branch where Lisa is a gymnastics teacher with Aerials Gymnastics in Eatontown. Allan is a healthcare executive and consultant. E-mail them at lindy571@aol.com.
    Christine Moore Gabriel married Michael Gabriel in 1995. She returned to Atlantic Community College and received an AAS-Physical Therapy Assistant in 1996. Gabriel works in Millville Center Genesis Eldercare in a rehabilitation setting. She is staying active and enjoys nature, running and golfing.
    Frank Slusark is vice president of Statewide Window Systems, Inc. in Clifton.

    Donna Batcho is the corporate relations officer at the United States Committee for UNICEF in New York City, NY.
    Edward Hoffman, Jr. was recently selected by the Department of Defense as an instructor at the Department of Defense Polygraph Institute.
    Virginia Rosso is the newly appointed director of nursing at the Llanfair House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wayne.

    Lisa Combs has held the position of accountant with Merrill Lynch in Jacksonville, FL for the past six years. Married in October 1995 to Bruce Aubley, she is currently taking time off to raise Brittany, age 3 and Bruce, age 10 months.
    Andrej Kirylak is a senior buyer with BMW, specializing in spare parts and accessories.

    Susan Sullivan ’85 received her Ph.D. in neurobiology from the University of Rochester, New York. She is now head of a donor eye bank in Buffalo, New York and is involved in research.
    Deborah Fredericks
is the director of the Bergen County Department of Human Services. Prior to being appointed to this position, she served as the assistant director of the department since 1992.

    Dorine Bethea is a graduate student at Missouri University with a plan to design a master’s degree program that focuses on international journalism, politics, and new media. In addition, Bethea is teaching in the School of Journalism’s newsroom.
    Laurence Moran was appointed New Jersey Practice Manager in MMA’s Morristown office.

    Peter Connolly received his MD from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and is now an internal medicine specialist at the Veterans Hospital in Rockland County, NY.
    Betty Gould moved to Austin, TX and teaches third grade at a private school. She hopes that everyone will stay in touch.
    Michele (Weiner) Ferris is starting her 12th year at Becton Regional High School as a math teacher. Ferris recently purchased her second Mailboxes, Etc. in Mahwah. She resides in Suffern, NY with her husband, Stan, and three-year-old son, Brandon.

    Asdollah Livani finished medical school at St. George’s University School of Medicine in 1993. Livani is practicing family medicine in Bradenton, FL.

    Michael Marra was appointed Secaucus town clerk. He has worked in town hall since completing college, first in the data processing office and then in the financial office before becoming deputy town clerk in 1995.
    Tom Nevins is working at Hoffmann LaRoche in Nutley in the research and oncology department. He married Gaye two years ago and they live in Oak Ridge. The couple was the subject of an article in the Daily Record (Morris County) that dealt with budgeting success and strategies for a strong financial future.

    Stanley R. Kronberg
’91 has been named cantor at Temple Emanuel in Passaic. Kronberg studied with opera singer Norma Atkins, and with Nathaniel Benjamin, rabbi/cantor at Chavurath Beth Shalom in Alpine. He is an accredited elementary teacher in New York and will also serve as principal of the Temple Emanuel Religious School.
    Michael Rosbach
and Linda Westervielt were married in 1994. They have a daughter, Amanda Ryanne. The family lives in Middle Paxton, PA, near Harrisburg. Michael is a product manager with D & H Distributing and Linda does inside sales for Pella Windows.

    Robin Bulmer graduated from Montclair State University in 1995 with a master of arts degree in business education. She and her father created The Meeting Works, a meeting coordination company whose clients now include Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceutical and SONY. Bulmer sings in churches around the country and has sung on international mission trips. She has sung in Portugal, Costa Rica, Panama, Israel and the Czech Republic, each time singing in the country’s native tongue.
    Barbara Sapp is employed as a realty specialist with the Veterans Administration Property Management. This position was obtained through the cooperative education program at Ramapo. She is also an independent consultant in the real estate market.
    Betsy Weiss graduated from Felician College School of Nursing in December 1999.

    Jeff Camerato
has joined the staff of Englewood Hospital and Medical Center as a public relations/media specialist and can be reached at jeff.camerato@ehmc.com.
    Xiao Hong (Sherry) Cao has received a Ph.D. in bioinorganic chemistry from Yale University. She is now a post-doctoral fellow with Dr. Walter Gilber, Nobel Laureate, at Harvard University.
    Virgilio Caraballo has been promoted to program director for Neuro Rehabilitation of New Jersey in Haledon. The facility is part of Rehabilitation Specialists, founded in 1983 to provide accredited community integrated treatment of brain injury and other neurological disorders.
    Jonathan Marcus, Esq. is now working for Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, one of the largest law firms in the country. He is focusing on mergers and acquisitions/corporate counseling and is based in New York City, NY. Marcus resides in Mahwah.
    Nelo Rivera received an M.S. in organic chemistry from Stevens Institute of Technology in 1998. While he was there, he was a recipient of the Merck Fellowship and participated in “Summer Employment,” a special program funded by Merck. Rivera is now a research chemist at Merck.
    Yizhe Wang received a Ph.D. in organic chemistry form Yale University in June 1998. He is now a senior research chemist at Bristol Meyers Squibb in New Jersey.

    Christopher Dante recently received a Letter of Appreciation while assigned at Naval Reserve Readiness Command, Region Eight, Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, FL. Dante was recognized for his superior performance on duty. By displaying remarkable dedication and initiative, he consistently performed his demanding duties in an exemplary and highly professional manner. He joined the Navy in February 1996.
James Sexton ‘94 and Mary Jane (Bray) ‘95 bought a new home in Warren County. James continues to teach at Ramapo while finishing his legal education at Fordham Law and while working at Mulligan and Mulligan (Hacketstown).

    Brian Benoff is successfully and happily completing his second year as a graduate student in biochemistry at Rutgers University, New Brunswick-Piscataway.
    Mark Higuera is the corporate marketing manager for the New Jersey Nets.
    Glenn Micalazio is completing his third year in a graduate program leading to a Ph.D. in organic chemistry at the University of Michigan and is studying with Dr. Bill Roush. Micalazio received the Roche Scholar Award, a monetary award which also entitles the recipient to be a seminar speaker at Roche.

    Michele Cerra is an acquisitions editor for Troll Communications in Mahwah.
    Baruch Cohen, Esq. graduated cum laude from New York Law School. He is practicing corporate securities and international law in New York City.
    Tanya Cole is a certified public accountant. She is employed as a supervisor at Schonbraun, Safris, McCann, Bekritshy & Co., located in Roseland.
    James Giuliani is teaching a self-contained special education class at Hillside School. For the past two years he taught primary and secondary learning disabled and disturbed students as an environmental science teacher at the Rugby School in Wall Township. He received his certification for teaching special education from New Jersey City University last spring. Giuliani has also worked at Ringwood State Park providing visitor services.
    Jordan Janesko is stage manager/lights manager for theater productions on cruise ships. He is also the lighting designer, light board programmer, operator and technician for the equipment. Janesko formerly worked for a stage lighting company in North Jersey. He credits Ramapo College, in particular Professor Steve Perry, with his success, saying, “I wasn’t just a number, and therefore received much more individualized attention.”
    Joe Resteghini has spent the past three years traveling the world as an assistant cruise communications director with Holland America Line. He has been to countries on every continent and is now pursuing a career with Disney. Resteghini wishes everyone “success on the seas of life.”
    Theresa Reeves Santise, MSW, LSW received her MSW from Fordham University in March 1999. She received the Father John McCarthy Award for outstanding performance in the areas of course and fieldwork and in school service. Santise is now working with Valley Home Care.
    Damian Testa was promoted from executive director to executive vice president of retail operations for The Kay Group, insurance brokers in New York City. He has been in insurance for 20 years, 13 of which he spent operating his own company.
    Thomas Tibbs recently accepted a position as marketing manager with News America Marketing, a division of New Corporation based in Norwalk, CT. Upon receiving his MBA from the University of Rhode Island in 1998, he was employed by the Perrier Group as brand manager of two major west coast bottled water brands. Tibbs resides in Westport, CT.

    Joseph Phillips97 has accepted a position at Ohio State University in Columbus, OH as a research assistant in sustainable landscapes and forest fragment restorations.
    Heather Ellis
started graduate school at the University of Colorado and is majoring in education. She reports that the University of Colorado is huge, making her miss the closeness of Ramapo.
    Brooke Kaska is teaching high school English in the Belvidere School District. She also is teaching a World Wide Web publishing class and is the yearbook advisor. Kaska previously had done MIS systems computer coordination for a law firm.
    Suzanne Withers is a graduate student at the University of Pennsylvania working toward an MSW degree. She plans to graduate in 2002.

    Kim Langowski is employed with Nabisco, Inc and recently was promoted to human resource development specialist. She is responsible for training and development of employee needs and currently is pursuing a master’s degree in management consulting.
    Jelena Pavlovic is a graduate student in molecular biology. She is part of the MD-Ph.D. program at Penn State University.
    Veljko Popov is in the master of science program for organic chemistry at Stevens Institute of Technology. He has a Schering-Plough Fellowship and served as a summer intern at the company.
    Carrie DeVito trained at the Berkshire Theater Festival Apprentice Program where she was involved in three challenging plays. She also worked with the Classic Stage Company in New York City.

    William J. Barnes
is living in Golden, CO and attending Colorado School of Mines for his Ph.D. in applied physics.
    Kathryn Birmingham is currently teaching math at Suffern High School where she is also the flag twirling coach. She taught summer school at the Nyack Middle School last summer. Birmingham lives in Franklin Lakes.
    Alexandra Nagy is living in Australia.
