TEXT FROM THE ADVERTISEMENT:
Booker T. Washington led the way in higher education and social reform as a teacher, as a founder of the Tuskegee Institute, and as a role model in student leadership. As a student, he would have been a first class candidate for our School of Social Science and Human Services or School of American and International Studies. Ramapo teacher certification on the elementary or secondary level would have prepared him for his illustrious teaching career. And because Ramapo College was twice designated by the John Templeton Foundation as one of America's character building colleges with an emphasis on service learning and student leadership, Ramapo would have been a perfect environment for Mr. Washington's character building initiatives. With a solid liberal arts foundation, a 300-acre wooded campus, new residential facilities, and a 17 to 1 student-to-faculty ratio - it's no wonder U.S. News & World Report ranks Ramapo College of New Jersey second among northern public comprehensive colleges. Which is why some of the greatest minds in history could have started their futures here. And why some of the great young minds of today choose to start their futures here. |
