Kiplinger's Personal Finance Magazine ranked Ramapo College as among the "100 Best Values in Public Colleges" for 2009 while The Princeton Review selected Ramapo College as one of the best colleges anduniversities in the Northeast. In the 2009 edition of "America's Best Colleges," released by U.S. News & World Report, Ramapo College was ranked number 5 in the north in the Top Public Universities-Master's category. Ramapo College of New Jersey was established in 1969 and opened in 1971, the primarily residential campus is just 25 miles from New York City and located on 300 acres in the scenic foothills of the Ramapo Mountains on the New Jersey/New York border. The mainly undergraduate student body of more than 5,700 comes largely from New Jersey, but includes students from 21 other states, 64 countries and almost 300 graduate students.
