College Honors: Requirements
 

Photo: Students working with Eric WienerStudents accepted in the College Honors Program for the academic year beginning September 2009, shall fulfill the following requirements for successful completion of the College Honors Program qualifying them for Graduation with Honors:

  1. Four semesters of College Honors courses: Honors First Year Seminar (100 level); Honors International Issues (200 level); Honors Ethics (300 level); Honors Senior Seminar (400 level).

  2. Two Semesters of Honors in the Major:  One of several options including research and/or experience - such as study abroad, internship or service learning,  constituting the College Honors Capstone course. These options may incorporate the capstone within a student's major as partial completion of the College Honors Capstone.

  3. Engaged citizenship in the learning community of students and faculty in the College Honors Program.

  4. Engaged citizenship in the Ramapo College community, the wider local community or socially engaged projects generally.

The College Honors Program will host a Ramapo Honors Symposium, a separate end of the year Spring event to recognize outstanding work done within the College Honors Program. Eligible work includes College Honors Program submissions of work completed for Honors in the Major and/or Student-Faculty Research Collaborations.
