PARAMJEET BAGGA (TAS) has authored a chapter in a book. "Bioinformatics approaches for predicting structure and function of UTR" was published in "Methods in Molecular Biology Series: Post-Transcriptional Gene Regulation," edited by J. Wilusz and published by The Humana Press Inc.
DANIEL JEAN (FYE) (photo left) presented a workshop, "The Four Phases of a Successful First Year Experience Program" at the 27th Annual Conference on The First-Year Experience held February 15 – 19, in San Francisco.
Sculpture by JUDITH PECK (CA) was exhibited at Pearl Daddy Gallery in Beacon, NY.

DANIELA BUNA (TAS) reported that NICK KUZMIK, a physics major, was accepted for a research position at NASA. The position will be at Marshall Space Flight Center as part of the NASA Undergraduate Student Research Program. Kuzmik will receive a cash stipend for the 15-week spring session as well as travel expenses. He is the first Ramapo student to achieve this distinction.
SYDNEY JENKINS (CA) (photo right) learned from CHRIS TWOMEY that her work was featured in the movie "I Am Legend" with Will Smith. In addition, a mixed media presentation on aluminum foil by Twomey, "TRIUMPH of the XX, XX & XYm," was part of the group show, "Peace 2008" at the Sideshow Gallery in Brooklyn, NY. TERRA VANDERGAW (CA) reports that two students, DAVE DABNEY and JESS ROSS, made it to the finals of the Irene Ryan Acting Competition. There were 240 scenes whittled down to 32, and then down to 16 for the finals. Finalists were invited by Judith Ivey (one of the judges) to submit their headshots and resumes for consideration in her upcoming projects. They also each were met with individually and critiqued and advised by a casting director from Los Angeles and an acting teacher.
