"Postcards from Tora Bora," a film produced by KELLY DOLAK (CA), STEPHEN JABLONSKY (CA) and their professional partner, Wazhmah Oman, was accepted into the prestigious Tribeca Film Festival.

NIZA FABRE (AIS) presented "The Oneiric and the Supernatural in Dreaming in Cuban by Christina Garcia" at the Annual Convention of the Popular Culture Association this past April in Boston. At the convention she chaired a session on "African American Culture: Literary and Cultural Identities: People of Color and the Supernatural."
WANDA KOSINSKI (Testing and Placement Center) received an "Award in Appreciation for Her Outstanding Service, Dedication, and Leadership to the NJ Test Administrators Special Interest Group (NJ TASIG)" at the spring 2007 meeting held at Rutgers University. In addition to being a founding member of NJ TASIG, she served as chair from 1998 to 2006.

MITCH KAHN (SSHS) is pleased to announce that three Ramapo students have been named N.J. Department of Community Affairs/Wachovia Bank Housing Scholars for Summer 2007. They are MELISSA WHITE, a senior, ANGELA SHANER, a junior and ASHLEY KING, also a junior. All three are social work majors. They will begin their training at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) in early June and then get placed in paid 10-week internships with community organizations in various parts of the state.

Wednesday, June 27 – "Transgender Workplace Diversity Workshop: Addressing Issues for HR and Legal Professionals" will be held 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Bradley Center Skybox by JILLIAN WEISS (SSHS). The workshop, intended for human resources and legal professionals throughout the state, will address New Jersey Bill S362, which takes effect June 12, adding "gender identity of expression" to the list of classes protected from discrimination. 2007 Commerce Bank Summer Concert Series
- Thursday, July 5, 2007 - New Jersey Pops
The New Jersey Pops, featuring conductor Michael J. Buglio, will present a musical salute to Americana. The concert concludes with a vibrant fireworks display, beginning at 9:30 p.m.
- Thursday, July 12, 2007 - Jimmy & The Parrots
The group will present a Jimmy Buffet tribute. From "Margaritaville" to "Hot Hot Hot," Jimmy & The Parrots will have attendees singing, laughing and dancing. (Fireworks rain date.)
- Thursday, July 19, 2007 - 1910 Fruitgum Company
The 1910 Fruitgum Company will perform all their hits in addition to some of the best songs from the 60s ever to be recorded. Their hit songs include "Simon Says," "1-2-3 Red Light," "Indian Giver" and more.
- Thursday, July 26, 2007 - Jim Yester & The Yesterdaze
Yester, the original lead singer of The Association, will delight the audience with a tribute to this legendary group. They’ll perform classics including "Windy," "Cherish," "Never My Love" and "Along Came Mary."
The concerts will take place at the Bandshell, beginning at 8 p.m. Admission is free; parking is $5 per car. Info: ext. 7179.
