College Placement Test and Transfer Credit
College Placement Test
All incoming EOF Freshmen are required to take the Accuplacer Placement Test prior to May 1st. The placement test is used to prepare your class schedule for both the summer program and fall semester.
Student may be excused from the Placement Essay test if they meet one of the exemptions listed on the Testing Center’s Placement Essay website. Students may be excused from the Math Placement test if they meet one of the exemptions listed on the Testing Center’s Math Placement website. Students who wish to register for Precalculus, Calculus I or Discrete Structures are required to take the College-Level math (CLM) Placement Test in addition to the Math Placement Test.
Students may be able to take placement testing at other institutions that may be closer to their home. Off-Campus testing requires the completion of an off-site testing form and must be pre-approved by the Ramapo College Testing Center. Transfer Credit and AP/IB Tests
Freshmen applicants who have earned college credit while attending high school can transfer those credits to Ramapo College if they receive a letter grade of “C” or higher in the course. An official college transcript from the institutions awarding that credit is needed to transfer credits. Please send all transcripts to the Office of Admissions for evaluation of credits.
Students taking Advanced Placement (AP) courses or International Baccalaureate, Higher Level (IB/HL) courses while in high school can earn college credit for those courses. Students must submit official AP test scores or IB/HL transcripts to the Office of Admissions for credit evaluation as soon as available.
