Requirements of the Minor
School of Theoretical and Applied Science
Course Descriptions Convener: Lawrence D'Antonio

NOTE: A school core is NOT required for completion of the minor.
Minors are open to students regardless of school affiliation.


SMTH 111/112 Calculus I** and II 8 crs.
SMTH 217 Discrete Structures** 4 crs.
SMTH 231 Linear Algebra 4 crs.
A Course in SCP (Science in Cultural Perspective Course) 3 crs.
Mathematics Electives (200 level or above) 6-7 crs.

  Minimum 25-26 crs.


**For students who need additional preparation in mathematics before entering SMTH 11 Calculus I or SMTH 217 Discrete Structures, SMTH 110 Precalculus is offered. Admittance directly into SMTH Calculus I or SMTH 217 Discrete Structures without college credit in Precalculus requres the successful completion of the Calculus/Discrete Structures Entrance test administered by TAS.
