*Elective courses are offered on a two-year cycle, consult your advisor for planning.
**Only three credits of co-op and/or three credits of Independent Study may count toward the eight credits of electives.

The Chemistry program at Ramapo is approved by the American Chemical Society (ACS). Students graduating with a major in Chemistry can be certified by the ACS if they have taken the following courses AS PART OF, OR IN ADDITION TO, the Requirements of the Major.
a) Advanced Inorganic Chemistry (offered only in the fall semester of odd-numbered years) both lecture and lab required.
b) At least three credits of the following advanced electives: Advanced Organic Chemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology, Cooperative Education, Elements of Surface and Colloid Chemistry, Independent Study, Materials Science, Quantum Chemistry, Special Topics in Chemistry, Chemical Research.
c) Three credits in Biochemistry.

TAS School Core Requirements
