President Mercer meeting with past presidents |
An Invitation from
President Mercer
When Ramapo College was founded by the New Jersey State Legislature in 1969, the College had no campus, no students, and no faculty or administrators. By the end of that first year a Board of Trustees was in place, the first president, George T. Potter, was hired, and the College was on its way to finding a permanent home on the Birch estate in Mahwah.
Flash forward 40 years: Ramapo College has become a complex institution of higher learning with a continuing commitment to the liberal arts. Many individuals have invested their time and talents to help shape the academic programs and the physical landscape over the past 40 years. As we continue celebrating our 40th Anniversary, we are asking members of the College to share their stories about how Ramapo has affected their lives and the lives of tens of thousands of students. Through these stories of individual contributions, we can celebrate what we have accomplished here together and plan in an enlightened way for future successes.
I invite you to participate in Ramapo Reflecting and share your personal story of Ramapo College at its best.
