How to Apply to Ramapo College of New Jersey

Each year Ramapo College welcomes about 900 freshmen primarily from New Jersey, the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions of the United States and from many foreign countries.

For the best response time we strongly encourage you to apply by using our on-line application.  If you are unable to apply on line you may request a paper application from the Office of Admissions by calling (201) 684-7300.

A complete admissions application consists of:

  • Application
  • $60 application fee
  • Official high school transcript
  • One letter of recommendation required (Two preferred)
  • Essay required

If you are a high school senior, give your application to your guidance counselor who will forward it to Ramapo with your official transcript and appropriate recommendations. If you choose to apply online, please inform your guidance counselor who will then send your supporting credentials to Ramapo's Office of Admissions. Other freshman students (those who have been away from school for an extended period beyond high school graduation) should request that their high schools send an official high school transcript to Ramapo.

If you have a General Equivalency Diploma (GED), you must submit an official copy of your test scores. Prospective full-time students with a GED are still required to take the SAT. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required of all international students and is recommended for all students who have resided in the United States fewer than four years.
