Mission
The Havemeyer Edible Garden at Ramapo College is intended to serve as a fertile ground for learning about sustainable food, eating and nutrition.
Purpose
Learning experiences involving the Havemeyer Edible Garden will focus on sustainable food and nutrition programs that bring about awareness and motivate individuals to make healthier food choices.
The major focus of the garden will be to:
- Deliver sustainable food and nutrition programs for students.
- Provide sustainable food and nutrition education programs for athletes.
- Deliver a sustainable food and nutrition lecture series, inviting the community to get involved.
- Present nutrition programs for children.
- Invite teachers to participate in sustainable food and nutrition programs.
- Create global sustainability initiatives for students pursuing study abroad programs.
