Self-Study Timetable

Fall 2007

  • Steering Committee Co-Chairs selected
  • Self Study Institute (November 4-6)
  • Executive Committee (Barnett, Echols Tobe, Mazza, Cammarata) meet to discuss self-study design and determine Steering Committee composition
  • Steering Committee selected

Spring / Early Summer 2008

  • February: Official launch of Middle States Self-Study (website, pod casts, email messages, State of the College address, etc.)
  • March/April: Steering Committee Co-Chairs visit major constituency/governing groups – Faculty Assembly, Professional Staff Association, Minority Faculty and Staff Association, Diversity Action Committee, Communication Workers of America, American Federation of Teachers, and the Student Government Association
  • February – June: Steering Committee meets to develop the self study design
  • July-August: Co-Chairs write self-study design and submit to Steering Committee for approval

Summer 2008

  • Co-Chairs send Self-Study Design proposal to Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) liaison, Dr. Robert Schneider

Fall 2008

  • MSCHE liaison visit and approval of Self-Study Design (September 12)
  • Study Groups meet regularly and conduct self-study (September – December)
  • Steering Committee meets monthly to advise process and continue preparations

Winter 2008/2009

  • MSCHE selects the evaluation team chair and Ramapo approves
  • Ramapo and team chair select dates for chair's preliminary visit (Fall 2009)
  • Date for team visit determined

Spring 2009

  • Study Groups continue work and submit reports by March 15, 2009

Summer 2009

  • MSCHE selects evaluation team members and Ramapo approves
  • Steering Committee develops a draft Self-Study Report

Fall 2009

  • Campus community reviews and comments on the draft Self-Study Report
  • Team chair reviews draft
  • Visit from evaluation team chair (at least 4 months prior to team visit)
  • Compile feedback and prepare final Self-Study Report

Winter/Spring 2010

  • Send final Report to evaluation team at least six weeks prior to scheduled visit

Spring 2010

  • Evaluation team visit and report
  • Institutional response

Summer/Fall 2010

  • Committee on Evaluation Reports meets to review report and institutional response
  • Commission action
