Anisfield School of Business:
Business Essentials Certificate Program
(To begin Summer, 2008)

Program Description
This new Ramapo College of New Jersey Business Essentials Certificate Program is intended to provide a foundation in essential business principles.

    At a glance:
  • 16 credit hours
  • 2 seminars
  • summer sessions

To earn a certificate, a student will be required to complete four credit-bearing courses (16 credits) within the Anisfield School of Business.  These courses provide a basic, but broad business foundation in the areas of accounting, marketing and management and an opportunity for further study in business law, information systems, or finance.  The actual courses are part of the ASB Professional Core curriculum. In addition, students must attend at least two of several personal effectiveness seminars that will be offered to program participants. These non-credit seminars will cover such topics as time management, negotiation skills, effective communication, career networking and effective job search strategies.

It is expected that most students will complete their course work during the summer sessions.  Beginning in summer, 2008, sufficient sections of each course will be offered at convenient times during the summer. To meet the needs of working students, at least one section of each course will be offered in an evening timeslot of the summer sessions.  By taking one course in each summer session, a student should be able to complete the certificate program in as little as two summers.
