Students take five elective courses.

These courses may cover a broad spectrum or they may fit into a concentrated or focused area of study.

A unique feature of the Ramapo MALS degree is the opportunity to receive a certificate, in addition to the graduate degree. This certificate states that the student completed a concentration in a focused area of study.

A certificate will be awarded to all students who complete at least two elective courses and a capstone graduation project in the same area of study.
