COURSE OBJECTIVES/ ASSESSMENT:
1) To establish and create a personal philosophy of leadership.
2) To develop leadership skills and competency through application of leadership concepts in a community setting.
3) To practice leadership in action and reflect critically on the leadership experience.
METHOD OF PRESENTATION:
The format for this course includes in-class lectures, group exercises and group discussions.
METHOD OF EVALUATION:
Writing assignments; individual and group presentations and class attendance/participation.

GRADING POLICY: (Pass = 60% and above, Fail = 59% and below):
- Writing Assignments– 50%
- Class Attendance/Participation- 25%
- Group Project- 25%

CLASS PARTICIPATION:
Regular class attendance and participation is expected. More than 2 absences may result in a failing grade.
TARDINESS:
A very strict attendance and punctuality policy will be enforced. Punctuality is expected.
The following policy will apply: 2 Lates = 1 absence, 4 Lates = 2 absences
(More than 4 lates may result in a failing grade.)
LATE ASSIGNMENTS:
LATE ASSIGNMENTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. In the event of a class absence, the student must submit the assignment to the instructor’s office prior to the end of the day, personally, or via attachment/word document. If a student fails to submit an assignment, NO credit will be given for the assignment.
