Ramapo College Orientation (Fall) Orientation in the fall of 2003 was focused around the idea of HEART: Hope, Education, Acceptance, Responsibility and Teamwork. The orientation staff and volunteers were role models for all these characteristics, and hoped that first year students made these their goals as well. The two day Orientation was designed to make the first year student feel welcome here, help them overcome those intial jitters, and allow them to become part of the Class of 2007 and the Ramapo Community! After Orientation is over, however, our services didn't stop. Throughout the Fall semester there were a variety of focused, small group workshops called First Year Programs. The programs are designed to help first year students feel confident and able to meet the new challenges they face, everything from writing papers and taking tests for courses to learning to live with new roommates; from making independent and healthy social decisions to scheduling their time. During Orientation, first year students were given more information about how to register online for the fall semester First Year Programs. |
