Personal Development Workshop #1: Stayin’ in The Green Zone
Dates: September 17, 18 20 21 26 (sept 19 convocation) (eight sessions times and locations tba)
Presenters:
Cory Rosenkranz, Psychological Counselor and Coordinator for Violence/Substance Abuse

Synopsis:
Some students will choose NOT to drink; some students WILL choose to drink. Some students will worry about those who choose to drink. All students will know and WANT to know about the “Green Zone”. The “Green Zone” - alcohol information is personalized, easy-to-use and empowering.
Learning Outcomes:
- Make healthy choices regarding use of alcohol and other drugs
- Identify and effectively utilize wellness resources on campus
- Learn and comply with Ramapo College's Code of Conduct and relevant local and state law as it relates to alcohol and other drugs
Personal Development Workshop #2: Preventing Violence on Campus
Dates: October 15-19 (eight sessions times and locations tba)
Presenters:
Mandolin Restivo, Director, Women’s Center and Diversity Education Programming

Synopsis:
Using a video developed by students and staff at Ramapo College, NJIT, Seton Hall University, and William Paterson University, this session will help you understand the dynamics of sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking. This session will use real life situations to highlight the seriousness of these crimes, give you strategies to prevent violence on campus, and cover resources available if you or a friend is in need of help. Every student will receive a copy of the DVD, which highlights resources specific to Ramapo College.
Learning Outcomes:
- Establish and sustain positive relationships with members of the same and opposite sex.
- Take initiative to uphold an environment of ethical conduct
- Identify and effectively utilize sexual assault and violence resources on campus
- Make appropriate choices regarding personal safety
Personal Development Workshop #3: Valuing Diversity: Revealing the Benefits
Dates: November 5-9 (eight sessions times and locations tba)
Presenters:
Kathy Zeno, Assistant Professor of Marketing

Synopsis:
This interactive workshop focuses on building awareness of diversity in its broadest sense and investigates its visible and invisible dimensions. We will discuss stereotyping and labeling as a part of a group exercise and together explore the impact of learning from and valuing diverse perspectives, thoughts, and approaches.
Learning Outcomes:
- Critically reflect on and/or refine views of the value of diversity
- Develop a basic awareness of individual and cultural differences and similarities
- Recognize and challenge stereotypes and prejudice
- Interact with individuals with different cultural backgrounds in a respectful manner
