Attend Class. Drag yourself to class no matter what. Even if you are sleepy, you will still pick up some of the material covered in lecture. Your constant attendance will also be remembered by your professor.
Participate. Let your professor know who you are. Participation is usually a substantial factor in your grade, and it can show your professors that you are paying attention and even care about the subject they have devoted their lives to teaching.
Read. Reading your assignments will increase your knowledge and motivate you to participate.
Read to Understand. We are all guilty of reading in a "daze." You turn pages, but just stare at the words without comprehending their meaning. Attempt to understand what you read. Make note of questions you might ask in class. Read your assignment again right before class, if possible.
Learn to Study. Studying means picking out the important facts and concepts and memorizing them. If you are not sure if you are "getting it", talk to your professor during office hours. Professors love helping motivated students.
Make the Time. You make time for everything else you decide is important in your life. You can make time to study. Don't fool yourself.
You Can Do It. You gained admission to the College. You have the ability. The rest is just a question of commitment.
