If you wish to earn credits at another accredited institution and transfer them back to Ramapo, you must fill out an Off Campus Study request Form with an academic advisor. Bring with you offerings from the other school and a list of courses you are considering.
This form:
verifies that the course(s) you plan to take will be accepted by Ramapo.
provides a guide as to how the credits would be applied to your Ramapo requirements.
NOTE: Before taking classes off campus, review Ramapo Colleges residency requirement, described at the beginning of your audit and in the Catalog.
Process
Identify courses you wish to take off campus by school and course ID. Typically it is easier to transfer general education requirements rather than major requirements.
Meet with an advisor to fill out Off Campus Study Request Form. Keep your copy for your records. Occasionally, the other school will ask to see this form as proof that Ramapo gave you permission to take credits off campus.
Take the class(es), making at least a "C" grade in order for the credits to transfer.
Have an official transcript sent back to Ramapos Admissions office.
Check your audit after you receive your updated transfer evaluation from us, making sure that it correctly reflects your transferred credit.
