The Office of International Education (OIE), located on the first floor of the Anisfield School of Business in the Roukema Center for International Education, offers a full range of services for international students as well as support for exchange visitors and their dependents. The staff provides:

  • Information and referrals to other campus offices
  • Advice for students in regard to immigration, employment, and personal matters
  • Advocacy for international students both in the Ramapo College community and the community at large
  • A warm and welcoming environment to our international visitors
  • Study Abroad support and programming - http://www.ramapo.edu/academics/studyabroad/index.html

The Director of International Education and the Assistant Director of International Education act as liaisons to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services and to the United States Department of State. All matters regarding F and J immigration status are handled through this office-documentation, travel and employment authorization.

To assist students in acclimating to American college life, OIE coordinates comprehensive international orientation programs both in late August for the fall semester and in late January for the spring semester. In addition, OIE sponsors numerous social and cultural programs such as:

  • Monthly coffee houses
  • International Week
  • Off-campus trips and outings
  • Programs cosponsored with faculty and other administrative offices
  • Programs sponsored with ISO (International Students Organization)
